Our philosophy is based on an understanding that the objective of the game is to send the ball to a target. That target could be a location in the fairway or a location on the green. Secondly it is based on the premise that the player can only propel the ball through the use of a golf club. Thirdly, it is based on the fact that the direction in which the club is swinging determines the direction the ball will travel. Therefore a player's level of accomplishment in the game will centrally be a function of how well they are taught to swing the club in the direction of the target. The objective of swinging the club to the target is then integrated into our sessions on putting, chipping, pitching, and the full swing. Golf is at its best when you are preparing to make a shot and have a clear understanding and successful experience at sending the ball to your target!
Having a clear understanding of this matter and having individualized instruction, your game improvement can be better than you ever expected. The improvement for which players come to school begins during your three days with us. But that's just the beginning. Afterwards, your new understanding and new skills will strengthen as you practice the lessons you learn at Heartland. Our most successful players are those who can see that while their time at Heartland is where game improvement was acquired, it is focused practice that is going to make the improvement permanent.
For your post school practice, your Learning Log will contain notes you and your instructor will have compiled to record each aspect of the lessons that proved helpful to you. This way we ensure that not only was you time at Heartland constructive but that you also take all of the lessons with you when you practice during the weeks following school.
You will also be provided with a Post-School Game Plan adapted specifically for you. When enrolling, pick a date that will allow you ample time to practice during the three weeks immediately after your time at Heartland. As part of your commitment to your game, commit to school and commit to practice several hours each week for the subsequent three weeks.
The school's curriculum is grounded in the teachings of Manuel de la Torre.
